We do our best to incorporate something fun or interesting into each day - even when it makes us wonder what we've gotten ourselves into.

Don't Wait To Live Your Dream Life

I’ve been doing something a bit different this past month.  I’ve been selling printer cartridges on EBay.  Since we have rental properties, we sometimes have tenants leave interesting things behind.  Recently, a tenant left several printer cartridges behind.  I called them to see if they wanted them, and they said “no”.  Since the cartridges don’t fit our printer, I decided to sell them on EBay.

I can say that selling on EBay would not be my favorite full-time occupation, but it is interesting enough to do it once in awhile.  And that is something that I cherish about my life.  No two weeks are exactly alike.  There is always something new to experience; or someone new to meet and get to know.

Earlier this month, Wolfgang and I had the pleasure of playing “host” to Wolfgang’s niece, Christina and a wonderful family from Indiana.  Christina is in the U.S. this year as a foreign-exchange student, and she and her host family came for a Spring Break vacation.  They got to experience lots of new things, and our week was very different just having visitors.  I think it was fun for everyone.

Variety in life brings me joy, so I created some variety by selling stuff on EBay and hosting a family’s vacation.  Nothing earth-shattering here; just simple bits of variety.

I guess my point is this:  Figure out what brings joy and/or satisfaction to your life; then look for ways to incorporate more of that into your day-to-day.  There is no need to wait for a vacation or a new job or a new relationship or any other major change.

What you’ll figure out is this:  do these things really bring you joy and/or satisfaction?  I’ve known people who waited until retirement to do the thing that they thought would make their life amazing (like traveling in a motor home); and then didn’t enjoy it at all.  They felt lost and had to figure out a new retirement plan.

So, don’t wait for the dream job, home, or whatever.  Incorporate your dreams into your waking life.  Whatever your dream may be, find a way to fit some of that into your schedule.  Even if it’s on a tiny, small scale – it will add enjoyment to your life now – and give you a better understanding of yourself and your dreams.

Namaste!

What Did I Get Myself Into?

A little over a week ago, Susan and I made a quick (24-hr) trip to San Francisco.  Why?  Well, about a month ago, our phone rang at 2 a.m.  On the other end was my old friend, Harro, calling from Germany.  Harro and I met 30 years ago and were instant friends.  Even though we don’t talk for years at a time, when we do reconnect, it feels like no time has passed.

After the usual pleasantries, my friend shared what prompted the call.  His company received an invitation to do a presentation on an Aircraft Landing Gear Alignment process that they had developed 10 years ago.  Back then, I assisted in demonstrating this process on a 1-on-1 basis.  Since then, the equipment used in the process has evolved and this is to be a technical presentation in front of about 95 engineers.

Harro offered to send the latest and greatest equipment, pictures, and information to me, if I would do the presentation for his company.  I said “yes”. Well, I have refamiliarized myself with the process, and practiced the presentation.  So with all the help from my higher realms that is available to me, I trust it will go well.

My mind wonders, “Am I nuts, or living life fully?”

Life is good.

Lots of love,
Wolfgang
