Lightworker Bookstore Events

I prefer not to do the typical book signing but instead like to offer people something about our work and something personal that they can take with them when they leave the store. We have been very blessed to have found a successful formula in our bookstore appearances.

The 1 hour talk

First I like to present an hour talk on our work. This may be what happened to me as a Contractor who became a channel or it may be the latest information from the Group. Either way the first hour is best building the energy with a talk.

Book Signing

Then I found it works best to tell people who want signed books but do not want to stay for a reading to form a line and I sign books. For people who will be getting a reading and signing books they wait in line.

2 Minute Readings

From that point on I like to give the free 2 minute readings. This gives people a personal look at themselves from the perspective of the Group. When we offer these free sessions the response is very positive. The first time we did this at a Borders books in St. Louis, MO. we drew 75 people who stood in line as long as four hours to get a reading. Several people just passing by also found their way in the line and had a reading. It's a great way to give them something personal and uplifting.

Preparation

The two minute readings do not need a lot of preparation. I prefer not to do them in a separate room as that has a tenancy to take longer than 2 minutes. Two chairs are all that is required. From the two chairs a line will form where people will wait for the readings. Even though this may block traffic in your store if the line goes past a counter filled with jewelry or other impulse items you will sell quite a few during this time. Sound equipment is rarely needed as I have a very strong voice, but microphones can be helpful if the group reaches more than 50 and the store is very big.

Preferred Hours

Most often we like to start these events in the evening hours at 7pm to closing at 10pm. I prefer not to go past 10pm as I turn into a pumpkin at that point so we draw the line at how many I can do in a night. If the event is to be on a weekend I prefer to start at 1:00pm and go for up to five hours with the sessions. I will draw a close after five hours as that is my limit. If we expect a large turn out we will bring numbered tickets that we will pass out to the people in the order that they came to the bookstore. we can even send these tickets ahead.

Resources

The resources we give below may help you to promote the event to your people. We hope that you have been carrying the books already but strongly suggest that if you don't normally carry them that you at least carry a few after the signing as they will sell.

Hand Outs
You can print handouts for bag stuffing that are printed on one side only from the PDF file below.  These are in color but look good in BW. You can customize them to show the date time and store location, etc.
NOTE: These really work well when you put conference information on the opposite side and give them to the book store to hand out with each sale or place on their counter.
